Bandsaw Blades - FAQs

We supply a wide range of blades including bi-metal, carbide tipped, multi-chip unset tooth, fabrication, and specialty blades for abrasive or difficult-to-cut materials. Suitable for all types of horizontal and vertical bandsaw machines.

Our blades can cut a variety of materials:

  • Ferrous metals: steel, stainless steel, tool steels
  • Non-ferrous metals: aluminium, copper, brass
  • High-temperature alloys: Inconel, titanium
  • Cast iron
  • Plastics and composites

Selecting the right blade depends on:

  • Material type and hardness
  • Section size
  • Cutting speed
  • Desired surface finish

We can recommend the best blade type, tooth pitch, and width for your application

  • Bi-metal blades: High-speed steel teeth welded to a flexible steel back. Versatile for general cutting.
  • Carbide tipped blades: Individual carbide teeth brazed to the blade body. Superior wear resistance, longer life, and excellent for abrasive or tough materials.

TPI (Teeth Per Inch) affects cut quality:

  • Higher TPI: smoother finish, better for thin materials
  • Lower TPI: faster cutting, ideal for thick materials

Yes. Wide blades provide stability for straight cuts and large sections, while narrow blades are more flexible for tight curves or irregular shapes.

Replace blades when you notice:

  • Reduced cutting speed
  • Poor surface finish
  • Excessive vibration or noise
  • Burnt or glazed teeth

Regular inspections improve blade life and prevent downtime.

Yes, but blade life and performance improve when blades are matched to the material. Carbide blades work best on tough alloys, while bi-metal blades are suitable for general metal cutting.

Yes. Our blades are compatible with all major bandsaw brands, including our partners MEP, MEBA, Indotech, Temelsan, Cuteral or non-partner brands eg Bomar, Everising, Amada, Vortman, Behringer, Alligator bandsaws.

Yes. We can source or advise on custom blades for special applications, unusual section sizes, or specific cutting needs.

Blade size is determined by your machine’s maximum blade length and width. Provide your machine model and we’ll recommend the correct blade size.

Yes. We supply bulk quantities for production environments with competitive pricing and fast UK delivery.

Yes. We provide coolants and cutting fluids to improve blade life, surface finish, and cutting efficiency.

Absolutely. Our team can recommend the best blade based on your machine, material, production rate, and desired finish.
