CNC Horizontal Bandsaws

Complementing our range of automatic saws, we also offer CNC (Computer Numerical Control) operated bandsaws. These advanced automatic machines employ computer programming to achieve exceptional cutting precision and consistent results. Unlike manual or semi-automatic bandsaws that demand considerable operator involvement for each cut, a CNC bandsaw executes pre-set instructions, enabling intricate and complex cuts alongside automated material feeding and the execution of multiple cutting sequences.

We source our CNC horizontal bandsaws from leading industrial saw manufacturers: MEP Saws (Italy), MEBA Saws (Germany), Bonetti Saws (Italy) and Temelsan (Italy).

Key benefits of a CNC:

• Computer Controlled: The saw’s operation is entirely governed by a computer program, which controls blade speed, feed rate (the speed at which the blade moves through the material), material indexing (advancing material for the next cut), and in some cases, the cutting angle (mitering).
• Pre-programmed instructions: Operators define the required cuts by inputting parameters such as the length and number of pieces. More advanced operations utilize intricate cutting paths created with CAD/CAM software. These programs can be stored and recalled for future, identical tasks.

• Automatic operations: Once the program is loaded and the material is clamped, the CNC bandsaw can perform a sequence of cuts automatically, significantly reducing the need for ongoing operator attention. Some sophisticated models are capable of fully unattended (“lights out”) operation.
• High Precision and Repeatability: Computer control ensures that cuts are consistently accurate, which helps to reduce mistakes and wasted material, especially when producing large quantities.

• Material Feeding: For efficient and precise cutting, CNC bandsaws utilize automated material feeding systems, including shuttle and roller feed vices, that advance the material to the exact programmed length after each cut.

• Example of additional options available on CNC saws

o Programmable Mitering: The ability to automatically change the cutting angle according to the program.

o Digital Readouts: Providing precise feedback on cutting parameters and material position.
o Bundle Clamping: Securely cutting multiple pieces of material simultaneously.

o Variable Blade Speeds and Feed Rates: Optimizing cutting for different materials.

o Coolant Systems: To dissipate heat and improve cutting performance and blade life.

o Swarf Removal Systems: Automatically removing chips and debris.

Fundamentally, a CNC bandsaw combines the material cutting capabilities of a standard bandsaw with the added advantages of computer numerical control: precision, automation, and flexibility. This makes them an excellent choice for high-production environments requiring accurate and repeatable results.
